The Artist

Hi! My name is Adele Beverley, and I am a professional pet artist living in Cambridgeshire, England. I have always loved to paint and draw,  I have done it for as long as I can remember.    I became more interested in art whilst studying it for A-Level.  One afternoon I saw the artist Bob Ross on television and was amazed by his techniques.  He could 'whip' up masterpieces in minutes!  I purchased his kit and started producing landscape paintings in oils.  This was my first venture with oils. I gave them as gifts to family members and friends, who were astounded that I did them.   Over the years I painted more paintings as gifts, from landscapes, to people and then eventually pets.  I realized this was the subject I wanted to pursue.  I now take commissions all over the world.

I am a huge animal lover, from the small to the big, and I love capturing the essence of the animal onto canvas.  Each animal has a distinct personality that I love to capture.

Besides pet portraiture, I have recently ventured into wildlife art, and family portraits.  I have drawn David Tennant (The Tenth Doctor) quite a few times and have donated money from these to ACCORD.  He's my favourite actor.  I have also raised money through my art for a number of charities including The Dogs Trust,  The Hearing Dogs For The Deaf, The Oldies Club, and Hope Rescue.  I am also involved in GABIT EVENTS a charity event that brings actress Amanda Tapping over to the UK to meet her fans and to also raise money for The Hearing Dogs and for Sanctuary For Kids.  So far we have raised £63,000 for The Hearing Dogs and bought 10 dogs.   For S4K we have raised over £100,000

I love travelling, I try to get over to Vancouver in Canada as often as I can.  It's the most beautiful city in the world.  I also love the countryside, hiking, the theatre and spending time with my nephew and with the three children I use to nanny for.  I looked after them for over  13 years and love them dearly.   (Three Musketeers picture below)

I almost forgot to mention that I am owned by a five-year old dog called Alfie. He is a large Yorkshire Terrier and I love him to bits.  He's always right there beside me as I work on commissions.  My faithful friend!  He's the best in the world :) He means so much to me.

My goal in life is to be hugely successful with my art and to meet David Tennant.   UPDATE!!!!!! I met the man himself in October 2011. He is beyond amazing and so inspirational.

My portrait 'Where's My Mummy?' was short listed in the BBC Wildlife Artist Of The Year 2010 competition.

I had two of my wildlife pieces in the summer exhibition at Banham Zoo, in Norfolk. The exhibition was from July 23rd to August 30th 2011.
